Front suspension is 100% certain VW Beetle torsion beam type. Shifter is a Hurst VW shifter or clone. Also note lack of front mounted engine as conclusive proof that this is a VW (rear engined). I wonder if someone imported this VW Sandrail chassis (Could be something from any of the big manufacturers - http://www.roadsters.com/sandrails/#sources) ...
