a certain dislike for reptilia
tsewei | October 28, 2006There’s one thing that I don’t get. Crocs.
Not the animal, but the shoes.
It’s ugly, and you can’t decide if it’s a shoe, or a slipper, or what. And it makes your feet look 10 times more bulgy, like bear feet or something. And did I mention that it is ugly? (If you don’t know what I’m refering to, click HERE and here, for visual evidence.
That’s why I don’t get why is it so popular at all? Yellow, blue, green, orange, red, purple, pink, black. They’re all ugly. Plus, as with every footwear fad in Singapore, imitations appear at every street corner, pushing fake crocs in all their hideous imitation colours for 5 bucks a piece. THAT, is even more irritating.
If all you want is ventilation and comfort, why not just wear sandals/slippers? At least that’s pleasing to the eye.
But I guess I’ll make one exception. Mini mini crocs look super cute on lil’ kids. And by lil’ I mean like a 2-year-old toddler. I saw a cute toddler with a tiny pair of purple crocs and that was the only time it didn’t look weird. I suppose the fact that it is 10 times smaller than the average adult size makes it look non-bloated and non-bear-feet-like. And I suppose the ultra cute factor of a 2-year-old cancels out any ugliness on the shoes’ part. :p

Hear, hear! Horrendously ugly indeed. That day I saw a whole

Horrendously ugly indeed. That day I saw a whole family wearing multicoloured crocs. And someone wore them with a dress! Gods… fashion faux pas redefined.
Eh, never seen such things here in Tokyo - probably
auyongtc | October 29, 2006 | 9:57 pmEh, never seen such things here in Tokyo - probably coz it’s not good enough as a fashion item here… :p
i second that opinion. i saw an article about how
yEin | October 30, 2006 | 2:20 ami second that opinion. i saw an article about how it’s the latest thing and all a few months ago and couldn’t see what the fuss was about. i mean, 1st thing that came into my mind when i saw the picture was:”it’s ugly, why is it even a fashion fad?”
actually, come to think of it....i have yet to see
yEin | October 30, 2006 | 2:23 amactually, come to think of it….i have yet to see anyone wearing it.
so far….
It may looked cute on kids, but not on adults.
surfnux | October 30, 2006 | 2:25 pmIt may looked cute on kids, but not on adults. So, its UGLY for adults and yuacks! For a pair of shoes err sandals? not sure what it should be called, that cost more than SGD 60, it doesn’t worth it eventhough its light.
Comfort wise, agreeable. Fashion wise, no way! Plus the latest desigh which came with the shoestrings, super duper ugly!
